MICROBLADE AFTERCARE

This is a tattoo. The outcome depends on how well you care for your post treatment brows. It is essential to follow these post care instructions, as the slightest hindrance can compromise the outcome.

Day one: (Day of treatment) keep brow lacquer on for 12 hours.

Day two: After 24 hours GENTLY wash the brow lacquer with cool water and clean non woven gauze. DO NOT TUG OR SCRAPE brows.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • Immediately following your procedure, the treated area will appear darker and bolder in color and more sharply defined. This can last up to a week after treatment while the initial healing process takes place. The treated area may feel sensitive, but there should be minimal to no discomfort following the treatment.

  • During the initial healing period there should be minimal scabbing or flaking of the skin. Scabbing will appear as healing progresses. If there is scabbing or flaking DO NOT pick, and allow the scab to come off on it’s own. Visible healing averages 10-14 days.

  • The complete healing process takes 6 - 8 weeks, at which time the true color will reappear. During this process, your tattoo will soften and lighten. Be patient, even if you think too much color has been lost, as your skin is still regenerating and naturally exfoliating. It is only after 6 - 8 weeks that your touch-up or adjustment can be completed.

  • WHAT NOT TO DO:

  • You may bath normally, but avoid getting any soap, shampoos or other cleansers on the treated area for the first 5 days, as they can be detrimental to the bonding process that must take place for the pigment to stabilize in the dermis.

  • DO NOT pick or scratch at flaking skin; let skin or scabs fall off naturally. Picking can cause scarring and premature loss of pigment. IMPORTANT: Once flaking and scabs have fallen of, a shiny layer of healing skin will completely cover the hair strokes. It may appear as though the tattooed area has completely disappeared. Within 1-2 weeks, the hair strokes will slowly reappear at a lighter shade as the skin regenerates.

  • DO NOT apply makeup to the treated area for a least 2 weeks. Cosmetics of any kind may interfere with the healing and color of your tattoo.

  • DO NOT use Vaseline, Neosporin or other petroleum based products while healing.

  • DO NOT tint, bleach, or color the tattooed area for 1 month following the procedure.

  • DO NOT apply any anti-acne products (ie:Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid etc) or lightening creams such as Hydroquinone to the treated area while healing.

  • DO NOT thread, wax or use hair removal products while healing

  • NO Anti-aging or facial products containing Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Retin-A, Lactic or Glycolic acids

  • NO exercising and/or sweating for 48 hours prior to treatment and for two weeks post.

  • NO Swimming pools, jacuzzis or other bodies of water for two weeks.

  • DO NOT soak your face underwater or allow shower to spray directly onto your face for two weeks.

  • ONCE HEALED:

  • Exposure to the sun over time can cause fading and discoloration of the pigment. Once completely healed, you may apply sunscreen to the treated area. Wear large sunglasses and a hat for additional protection. Rinse and pat dry the area thoroughly when in contact with chlorine.

  • Glycolic acid, microbrasion and chemical face peel products must be kept away from the treated area, as continued use may lighten pigment.

  • If you are having laser resurfacing or laser har removal after the tattoo has healed, please inform the treatment provider and continue at your own discretion. Laser procedures may darken, lighten, discolor or even remove the pigment for the treated area.

  • Once the treatment area is completely healed, any changes or additions that need to be made can be completed at your follow-up appointment no sooner than 6-8 weeks.
